Our Story

Generation Exchange is a small independent charity founded in 2016 by Claire Frost, bringing older and younger people together to learn, connect, and grow. Working in community spaces across Haringey and Enfield  focusing on making a real impact in disadvantaged areas.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple but powerful: connecting generations to build a more inclusive, connected society.

  • Empowering young people – by tapping into the wisdom and life experience of older generations. These intergenerational connections enrich young people’s education, communication skills, and sense of purpose.
  • Empowering older people – by supporting them to develop essential digital skills with the help of patient, tech-savvy young volunteers. This boosts confidence, independence and digital inclusion.
  • Breaking down isolation and loneliness – by reaching out to people of all ages by creating spaces and projects where meaningful intergenerational relationships can flourish.
  • Empowering young people with SEND – by developing their skills and confidence within the local community in order to return to mainstream education
  • Empowering the local community – by listening to local people, develop responsive projects with community ownership
  • Empowering meaningful community involvement – by offering young and old well-supported volunteering opportunities that develop skills, confidence and bring communities together

Through innovative intergenerational projects, we’re creating stronger, more connected communities—one exchange at a time
